Character hot seat

Today Mr Simon and Antony paired up to read a book to the class. The book was called "It came from out space".

Antony read the story in his native language (Chinese) and Simon (English).

They read the story to the class and then the class had to make up some questions that they would ask different characters in the story.
Children then had turns being that character in the hot seat and had to answer the questions asked as if they were that character in the story.

During reading today Rio worked with Antony and supported him with his reading  by listening to him read and showing him what to do for his reading response.

Grade 5 Exhibition

On Thursday the G4 classes got to experience the G5 PYP exhibition first hand over in the blackbox theatre.

ISPP Grade 5 hosted their PYP Exhibition this week and it was amazing! Music, dance, theatre, painting, sculpture, film and interactive displays were all used by students to express themselves and send a range of strong environmental and human rights messages to their captivated audiences. Congratulations to all students, teachers and mentors on such a fantastic display of learning and creativity.

It was an amazing experience and it was great for the Grade 4's to see what they have to do next year when it is their turn to do the PYP Exhibition.

Peace Mottos

This week the class have been finishing off their personal peace mottos.
How they wish to live their lives. They had to research and create their own personal motto.

Here they are. They are all very cool and it would be great if the whole world can live by some of these. What do you think?

Buddy time

On Friday our buddy class the "Tigers" came to visit us to learn a bit more about "Earth Hour".

Earth hour is when the whole world for one hour does something that will help the environment and world.

Our class decided to turn the air-conditioning and lights off for one hour. You should have heard the moans with no air conditioning going for one hour. Old school teaching by opening the windows.

The tigers came up to the class to watch some videos on what is happening to our environment and to do some colouring in.
It was great fun.
