You need to write an open letter to Mr Matt and post it on your blog. You need to PERSUADE Mr Matt that doing extra Minecraft is a good idea. You need to have 3 convincing arguments to help convince Mr Matt and I to continue these sessions. I will share the convincing letters with Mr Matt and then we will decide.

Chose 6 values and add these to the coat or arms on a google doc or an A4 document with pictures or symbol.

Over the course of this unit you will be asked to compare different things using a Venn Diagram. This activity is to help you practice.
Choose a friend, it could be a person in the class or your oldest and dearest friend. Write your name above one circle. Write the name of your friend above the other circle.

Blogs - UOI: Interview
Ask a parent or another adult about one of their favorite artists. Why does he or she like this artist? How does this artist express himself or herself? What is one of your parent’s favorite works? Why? What is the artist’s connection with society? Does the artist have a message to tell? or Is the artist creating artwork in response to events happening in the world? Ask any other relevant questions. Make a post on your blog with information you gathered from your interview and add any appropriate link to show the artist’s work. You can record your interview in question and answer, or summary format. You will share this interview with your peers.

You can write these directly onto your blog … but remember to write a paragraph not just a sentence. Also remember to edit your writing before publishing. Bad punctuation and grammar distracts the reader and is difficult to read. You can add a photograph / image that supports your reflections.

U O I - How We Express Ourselves
Next week we will be starting a new unit “Art Mirrors Life” and are gathering resources. Does your family know anyone who can help inspire us (a painter, a writer, a photographer, etc). The Grade 4 classes are currently organizing field trips and guest speakers for this unit.

2) Prepare for your buddy session this week. Choose a picture book from home or the school library you would like to read to your buddy. Practice reading it with clarity and expression. Bring the book to school for your buddy session.

Mathematics
1) Find an interesting fact about a country you have visited. The fact must involve a 6 - 7 digit number (See example below).
Write your number in standard form, expanded form and in words in your homework book.
2) Math goal: Keep practicing your multiplication goal (ie improve speed and accuracy X7) at home. You will have a quiz with your chosen X table on Friday.

On Friday we had a special day at the NGO Fair, when we learned about what the different organizations do to help in the community. Write a recount about the NGO for homework this week. Please write your draft in your homework book. Read it to an adult and then edit to make improvements.

U O I and Oral - Shape of a Leader
We are looking at the features of a biography this week. Many biographies have a timeline which record the events of a person’s life in chronological order. Take the opportunity to get to know someone in your family better by finding out about important or interesting events in their lives and recording them on a timeline. Show the events in chronological order. Use your creativity and complete a timeline on paper.
