Angkor Wat Run Bike trip

On Friday two buses departed ISPP for Sem Reap for the 20th Internation 1/2 Marathon. Our children were not intending on runing 21km but run 3km and bike 30km or 17km.

48 children loaded into two buses departed ISPP at 8am and travelled
the long and dusty road to Sem Reap. After 8 hours in the bus we finally arrived at our hotel.

Time to unpack and hit the pool followed by dinner and down time in preparation for 4.30am wake call on Saturday morning.

After a quck bite to eat at 4.30am the children were back onto the buses and travelled out to Angkor Wat at 5am for the bike stage of the trip.

Children competed in the 17km or 30km events.

After the bike leg it was a dash back to the hotel for breakfast, swim, down time, lunch and then back to Angkor Wat for a look around the temple and a shop at the markets.

Sunday had the children woken again at 4.30am for a 5am bus trip back out to Angkor Wat for the run stage of our trip.

Some 8500 people from all over the world were competing in the various run events. ISPP had a great start position for the 3km run with all the children first on the start line.

Mr Ben finished the event in 7th place with Mr Simon a bit further down the pack.

All our children ran their hearts out and can be really proud of their acheivements.

After another quick dash back to the hotel it was breakfast, showeres, bags packed and back on the bus for another 8hour trip back to ISPP.

Thank you to Mr Ben for his great organisation. It was a wonderful, action packed weekend. Thank you to Mr Andy for keeping everyone on their toes and to all the other superb teachers and Chanta for giving up their valuable time to supervise the children.
