Book Character Parade

Today the children could come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

There were some amazing costumes.



The children paraded around the knowledge centre so everyone could see each others costumes.


My favorite was  Gangmin's Minecraft costume

was amazing and very creative.

BOOK WEEK

This week it is "Book Week" at ISPP. It means there is a lot of different activities happening in and out of the class from guest readers in the library every break to daily quiz.

A highlight of the day is DEAR = drop everything and read
At any time an announcement will be heard over school intercom informing the children they have to DEAR.

The class has also been working on  decorating your door competition. We have chosen to make our class door look like a book shelf.The class get to design their own book spines to put on the shelf. It is a work in progress and will see how it looks on Friday for judging.

The class also were lucky enough to have Gangmin teach them how to make a special corner bookmark. Gangmin was a great teacher

UOI belief presentations

This week the children shared their presentation that they had been working on with their partner to the class.



Each pair was assigned a religion (belief) that they had to research then present what they had found to the class.







It was great listening to the class talk about different religions and the common similarities between the various religions.


Most groups choose to present their work in a slide (power point) or poster.

BOOK WEEK

Today saw the start of book week at ISPP and the arrival of author Bernard Caleo an Australian author and illustrator.

He impressed us with his energy, artistic flair, and storytelling skills. We began to learn about the art of Kamishibai (Kah-mee-she-bye), which is a form of storytelling that originated in Japan. 
The stories are told with large illustrated cards.

The Grade 4 children were very lucky and after our session with Bernad were able to ask him a few questions before he disappeared over to secondary.

Grade11 Science Exhibition

On Friday the Grade 4 & 5 classes were invited  to visit the secondary school to view the Grade 11 science projects.

The Grade 11's had just returned from Kep where they conducted experiences and proved or disapproved their hypotheses.
The children really enjoyed talking to the grade 11 children and seeing what they had been doing.



There were some amazing science projects the grade 11 conducted.

Each science group had a biologist, chemist and a  physicist in their group to help conduct the experiments they conducted down in Kep.

G4 learn a new app

This week the grade 4 classes are busy learning how to use the app "Boss Jock".


Mr Matt is teaching them how to use this cool radio app. The children can record them selves and become radio presenters.








It is a very cool app and children had lots of fun recording themselves.
