UOI - guest speakers

This week we had two people talk to our class about their passion for the arts.

Mr Exel - Photography

Ms Karyn - Paintings

They both inspired the children in how they are influenced by the society in which they live.

Ms Karyn talked about how people, stories, landscape and culture has influenced her in the works that she has created.
Mr Exel talked about that photography is about provoking feelings.

That when you look at a photo you loose yourself in it or you wonder what is happening in the photo. If you can do this then you have captured the moment.

He informed the children that to take a great photo you need to think of the 5 rules for a

photograph.
1. Rule of three. Divide your scene into 3rds....you don't always have to have the central figure dead in the middle
2. Get close to what it is you are taking a photo of
3. Focus on the eyes - eyes tell a story
4. Leading lines
5. Diognal lines - try and capture movement or make it look like it is moving

Both artist were inspiring and the children had lots of good questions.
