This week the Grade 3 to Grade 5 classes are all involved in ISA testing.
Image result for quiet exams in progress

  1. The ISA assessment program is designed specifically for students in international schools in Grades 3–10. It is based on the internationally endorsed reading, mathematical literacy and scientific literacy frameworks of the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

Today the children did the mathmatical literacy and the first part of the literacy writing exam.....

PE - team work

This week the class during PE have been playing games that require the children to work as a team.

They played a modified version of netball / basketball where they could step with the ball passing the ball amongst their team trying to score a goal at the end.

It looked like great fun and super ball skills developing.

UOI - Shape of a leader presentations

On Friday the remainder of the class presented their Leader presentations to the class.

Well done to all the children for the work they put into their leader projects.

You showed the changes your leader made and the attributes they had.

Shape of a Leader - Linnea

On Friday the G4 children were lucky enough to have a skype call with Linnea Niklasson.

She was a girl that a group of students researched as their leader. They studied the changes that she made helping children in Vietnam by raising funds to to be able to give them heart operation that they desperately needed. The families could not afford to pay the hospital fees.

Linnea Niklasson as a child also had a neart disease. After her operation she raised money for children in Vietnam as she was amazed at how many children could not afford to have the operation.
She is an amazing girl who showed great courage, kindness, confidence, tolerance, risk taker, independence and balance.
It was great for the children to be able to ask her questions about why she did it and what motivated her?

She is an amazing young lady.

Buddy Time

This week when we meet with our buddy class - Ms Melinda's KG1 class, we spent time helping them design a community as part of their UOI.

The children were asked to design a community. They could design their own town and put in what facilities, shops etc that they felt was needed to make a community.

It was interesting listening to the children from both classes discuss what was needed in their community.

We ended our session with a dance. Again some great moves from both classes.

Shape of a leader presentaion

Today the class started to share their presentaitons on the leader they have been researching to the class.
